My Little Girl

She blooms in cracked puzzles
clinging to me for life’s answers
her velvety innocence to my greying years
as wet petals to asphalt
I douse her doubts with unmarred piety
digging into helms of reality
to unearth a taloned phoenix
from a debris of broken flowers.
